As the title may suggest, Captain America: Civil War will be an adaptation of the Marvel comic book story arc of the same name that pits its title character against Iron Man, a friend and ally, over differing ideals of how The Avengers should be governed. Such an event would require more than just the amount of characters you would see in these solo films. This is an ensemble event, and as such you would need to bring major characters from previous films to go into battle amongst one another.
But you'll also have to introduce some new characters, and Civil War does just that by adding Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Helmut Zemo (Daniel Brühl), Spider-Man (Tom Holland), and a mysterious character to be played by Martin Freeman. There were a few rumors surrounding Freeman's character, one of the most notable ones being that he is a U.S. representative for the fictional African nation of Wakanda, where T'Challa aka Black Panther hails from. This has been confirmed in a brand new report. There are also a few new images to look at which feature Frank Grillo in full-on heavy Crossbones gear, Iron Man and Captain America looking into each other's eyes, and Scarlet Witch conjuring some chaos magic.
